So this is the new place. What do ya think? Looks pretty much like the old place, right? But that’s the way I like it. I didn’t want to jolt you with too much change all at once. I know change is hard so let’s take it slow.
I have something else new, too. I now know how to make and insert my own videos. So there’s another tallent I can add to my ever expanding list of useless and unemployable talents that the rest of the world already knows how to do.
Still, I’m proud. This is impressive for me. I not only recorded the live drawing of the winner for the Lost in Suburbia book Giveaway, but I also got it to show up here. All I had to do is first open a YouTube account so I had a place to grab the video from, and it turned out I already had a YouTube account I didn’t even know about. What else might I have that I don’t know about? A Swiss bank account with my name on it? The will of my long lost great aunt bequeathing her considerable fortune to me?
I guess I’ll never know, but I do know this: The winner of the book giveaway. For the drawing I took a page from One Classy Motha‘s book, but I switched it up a bit to make it my own. One Classy Motha used the Elefun method of drawing a name at random, but I don’t know where my stupid Elefun is anymore. Probably lodged in the back corner of the dusty basement covered in cobwebs, and I’m not touching that. So I used our bingo game drum. I don’t need no damn Rafflecopter. I make my own.
It was a family affair, the drawing. Remind me never to make that mistake again. These people are not professionals. It took about three tries before I got some useable footage. (Don’t worry. The video shown is the only time we pulled a name.) My daughter did the drawing, and my husband provided the dramatic drum roll by pounding on the kitchen counter. Check out the video to see who won.
Congratulations, Smocky! I’ll be in touch to get your book to you right away.
P.S. Anyone who subscribed to my old site (either through RSS feed or email) needs to subscribe again here for my new and improved, spiffy site. It comes with a free button and my undying devotion. Thanks.
