Piliferous – adj. having or producing hair.
Other than instances captured by the above photo, I don’t know how you could possibly use this word in a sentence. But if you figure out a way to slip it into a conversation with your coworkers or with your extended family members over the holiday dinner table – like What? Don’t know what that means? – you get double points.
I love how the back of this guy’s head is censored. Would people really be able to recognize him by the back of his head? Is the back of his head that distinctive? And, is it so shameful to have a natural fur vest? He can’t help it.
Perhaps piliferous (while I was writing the above paragraph I had a new thought) could also be used by balding guys, as a means of compensating (and confusing their blind dates). They could say, “I used to be really piliferous, but as I got older, you know, it just wasn’t me. So I stopped being so piliferous.” It makes balding sound good, virtuous. They stopped being such piliferous bastards.
